No 10 Pillow Case Tutorial

Tutorial time everyone!

I wasn't going to do a tutorial on this pillow case, but so many of you inquiry about this pillow that I decided to make a little tutorial for all of you!

What you'll need:
Matching Thread
2/3 of batting
2/3 yards of PE-420
2/3 yards of DAR-54301
Fat Quarter of DAR -64311
Fat Quarter of DAR - 54300
Fat Quarter of DAR - 54309
Fat Quarter of DAR - 64304
Fat Quarter of DAR - 54307

Cutting Instructions
PE-420 Cut two (2) 20'' by 20''
DAR - 54301 Cut one (1) 20'' by 20''
Batting Cut two (2) 20'' by 20''
DAR - 64311 2'' by 14 1/2''
DAR - 54300 3'' by 12 1/2''
DAR - 54309 2'' by 16 1/2''
DAR - 64304 1 1/2'' by 14 1/2''
DAR - 54307 1 1/2'' by 10 1/2''

Step 1

Start by prepping all the horizontal strips  by folding  1/4'' under each the side and press the folds.

Step 2

Grab the one (1) 20'' by 20'' DAR - 54301  and two (2) 20'' by 20'' of batting (like I did in my previous pillow, I used double batting for better texture) Place the two layers of batting and on top of it the 20'' by 20'' DAR - 54301. Take all your already prep strips and place them as the image below (pin in place). Each strip is measured separately.

Lastly, sew around each strip with an 1/8 seam allowance.

Step 3

Take the two (2) 20'' by 20'' squares from PE- 420  fold the edges under by 7 inches and iron press, so  they will not unravel over time.  After this, if desire, straight stitch the folded edge.

Step 4

Start by laying the front piece of the pillow with the right side (strips) facing up and place the back panels on top with right side facing down. Pin all the pieces together and sew around with an 1/2 inch seam allowance.

Fold it over and you will have your No 10 Pillow Case with a secret overlapping opening on the back where you insert your pillow body ☺

Happy sewing!

Pat B.
