Houston Quilt Market 2015 Re-Cap

Hello, hello!

I finally have some time to sit down and talk about how amazing the Fall International Quilt Market was! As always, I meet so many people, old acquaintances that is always grand to see again, along with some new faces! This time around, I didn't have a booth (sad face) but I had a wall which was, believe it or not, filled with countless #DareFabrics products. I prepare for Market months in advance because I want to showcase lots of product ideas for all of you to feel inspire and start creating. Needless to say, I did little sleep the last couple of days because new project ideas kept popping in my head☺ and I HAD to do them!

Those sleepless nights where the result of three wonderful quilts! While my "Venture" free pattern was constructed by the talented Carolina Moore from Craft and Moore  I am so happy to have worked with her, the finished quilt is just unbelievable.

I had so much fun talking to countless of lovely people at sample spree, the atmosphere that day was out of this world. The love some of you have for my fabrics really puts a big smile on my face, many thanks to all of you that made the two hours long queue just to enter to sample spree..thank you thank you!

Quilt Market day one was unbelievable, I got in touch with all of the lovely people that I haven't seen since Minneapolis and it was just grand, and of course, I get to spend three days with these talented and lovely ladies that inspire me everyday. So much love from all of you. Did you all seen Amy Sinibaldi's booth? It was so cozy ☺

What I love the most about Quilt Market are the future projects ahead! I meet up with the wonderful people of Electric Quilt and I'm beyond thrilled of the things to come☺☺

And clearly, the true show stopper was this HST quilt! I received Jeni Baker's The Half Square Triangle's book and got hooked. I was so inspired when I was flipping through the pages that I decided to make this outstanding quilt, what do you think?

Like I always say, good things come to an end, and at the third day mark, Quilt Market was over. I was so happy to meet everyone and hear everyone's reaction towards Dare Fabrics. Now it is time for me to prep some extra projects for the Dare Fabrics LookBook! I am so excited, it will be filled with countless of quilting, home decor and fashion projects! Stay tuned ☺

Quilt Market Recap

Hi there everyone!

I'm so thrilled to be back! A week ago I left the Houston Fall Quilt Market and we're well into November already. My, my. Where does the time go?  Market was truly a wonderful experience and I had a blast seeing everyone again and meeting great new people.

During the past six months I've been busy in my creative space, passionately sewing and designing with heaps of inspiration. The results are a true labor of love and I'm thrilled to finally share with you, Rapture!

The fabrics are inspired by one of my favorite designers, KENZO, and the watercolor style that has currently become the latest trend. The color palette has soft pastels, but yet it's bright and happy too! Perfect for the upcoming spring/summer season. I'm so happy right now in my professional and personal life, so I wanted Rapture to be a reflection of this joyous time!

This Market I took on a double booth to really display my vision. I designed a young girl's studio where she lives and create. She is fearless. She is sophisticated. She loves to sketch with markers and have a glass of wine while reading her latest vintage-find. She dares to wear bold prints with bright-colored hues of lemon red and blue.

Where she sleeps.

Where she gets dressed.

Her handbags.

She loves to be raptured by the beauty in everything she sees and wears her heart on her sleeve.

I loved every detail from the hand dipped ombre stools to the painted tea cups.

I am so thrilled, overjoyed, and truly blessed to have won SECOND PLACE DOUBLE BOOTH!

Even BERNINA stopped by to do an impromptu interview with me about Rapture and my upcoming sewing project for WeAllSew!

You can watch the video of my interview on the BERNINA Facebook page. I cannot wait to share with you my latest project that I did with hexis! It should be on WeAll Sew very soon.

Until next time... xoxo,
