Meadow Tote

Hello makers!

I am not going to lie, I did enjoyed creating all these little projects for the #IndieFolkFabrics lookbook. Even though I was not feeling so well lately, sewing has helped me tremendously. Here's another cute and fast project, perfect for a lazy weekend.

KHOKHLOMA COIN PURSE

Another awesome little project for all of you!

So many of you had been asking me about the Khokhloma Coin Purse when I was in market, well the only day I attended thanks to that horrible cold, and of course I said I was going to make a tutorial for it. 

This coin purse is so folksy inspired that I had to have it on the lookbook as well. Of course, I had to use my BERNINA 790 machine because its satin stitches are to die for. LE BOHEME TABLE RUNNER TUTORIAL

Hello everyone!

The Indie Clutch

Hello lovely makers!

I am so happy that I can finally start sewing with Indie Boheme (even though it's just strike-offs)! I made this adorable Indie Clutch with the striking satin stitches from my amazing BERNINA sewing machine! Isn't it cute? It's the perfect addition to any spring outfit.

Making this clutch only took me one hour, and that's because I was watching Historical documentaries (which I find fascinating) and got distracted a little bit ☺We all have our distracting moments while sewing and mine was a very interesting documentary.

Christmas Coasters

Hello everyone!

The clock is ticking and the holidays are just around the corner, how exciting? Like I promised before, more cute and adorable projects for the holidays are promptly coming your way, like these Christmas Coasters! I had so much fun creating them and let me tell you, they are way to easy and fun to make. And in you have an amazing machine, it's even funner! I created these cuties using my always reliable BERNINA 790, and let me tell you, sewing with this machine is like sewing in the clouds, I love it!

Presser Foot of the Month: Blindstitch Foot #5

Hello hello!!
What a busy month I've been having, so thrilled with all the projects that I have ahead. I almost forgot to add this month's Presser Foot, but I was thinking about this presser foot for a while now and wanted to share some info. Well.....this Month's Presser foot is the "Blindstitch #5" which is known as the invisible-hemming expert! Seriously! When you sew a blind hem with this incredible foot, the stitching can hardly be seen from the front, how awesome is that?!

The mechanism of this foot is incredible, the stitch is formed over a special blade that is the guide, which creates a loose stitch so that the hem lies nice and flat! When the fabrics is pressed flat, the needle penetrations points on the front of the fabrics, making the seam almost invisible and the blade guide provides an even distance to the folded edge, permitting the hem to be sewn perfectly.

Amazing right? This little foot is a life saver, you guys have no idea how many times it had saved me from hours of hand blind-stitching. Even though I found blind-stitching beyond therapeutic, sometimes time is not on my favor and have to finish fast!

Presser Foot of the Month: Zipper Foot 4D

Hello makers! 

What a weekend! Filled with rain but happy that Gaston didn't reach Miami so bad. With that being said, for this Presser Foot of the Month segment I decided to go for the Zipper Foot 4D! Because it makes it super easy the work of inserting zippers. It's narrow and centrally placed toe permits this zipper foot to get closer to the zipper coils which allows to attach the fabric securely.

Due to it's narrow shape, the Zipper Foot 4D is also perfect for attaching pipping and snap tapes and also, edge stitching! How awesome is that! I used my zipper 4D for every project that requires zippers or pipping but never thought of the edge stitching.....I'm going to start implementing that as well! Love the Presser Foot of the Month segment because is a learning experience and it's never to late to learn!

The Gypsy Queen Pillow Case

Hello everyone!

Last week, I was organizing my sewing room and came across so many cute fabric stashes from Artisan Fabrics and some from Denim Studio by AGF, so I decided to put them to good use. I was thinking, bohemian and gypsy when I created the "Gypsy Queen Pillow Case". Like some of  you know, I am obsess with BERNINA's decorative stitches and I try to use them all!! Believe me, there are several.

But I really enjoy exploring every single one of them and decided to use these three, don't they blend perfectly with the design and the collections used? I love them ♥♥♥ This pillow case it's so easy to make and so much fun. I know I always say things like that, but when you do what you love....you just have fun☺☺

Paper Pieced Mini

Hello everyone!

It's tutorial time, as I promised you all on Instagram. I have the full tutorial for this Paper Pieced Mini over at We All Sew with downloadable template. I had so much fun creating this project and what I love about paper piecing is how precise the seams are and let's not talk about how easy. I have to say, I am becoming addicted to mini quilts and with paper piecing! 

For this tutorial, I decided to use the BSR foot and free motion quilt this mini, I will try to make another tutorial explaining a little bit more about Free Motion quilting.

Presser Foot of the Month: Automatic Buttonhole Foot with Slide

Hello lovely makers! 

On this Presser Foot of the month segment, I want to talk about BERNINA's Buttonhole foot with slide #3A. I use this foot for a lot of things not only for buttonhole on shirts, pants or skirts. Some of my drawstring and laundry bags have buttonholes for closure and this feet has become my best friend for this sort of projects.

The good thing about this foot is that you can sew as many buttonholes of the exact same length as you want. Also, it has a sensor that determines the buttonhole length and relays the dimensions to the sewing machine, how cool is that!  This gives you perfectly identical buttonholes to be sewn again, until you decide to change the size.

Favorite Quilting and Sewing Projects

Happy Thursday,

One more day and we welcome the long weekend, what are you all planing for the 4th of July? A nice BBQ out with the family will be great and later enjoying a nice cup of tea while admiring the fireworks. Well lovelies, I wanted to share this a while back and I finally have the chance on doing so. I know it's a bit....just a bit...hard to find the perfect project for that stunning stash of fabric that is waiting to be used, so I gather some of my favorites quilting and sewing projects or inspirations for all of you to enjoy!

I saw this Indie Symmetry Quilt on Maureen Cracknell's blog a while back and I had to share it, she is amazing at crating wonderful quilts, make sure to check this project out!

Did you know that Art Gallery Fabrics is also a BERNINA ambassador? They have amazing free tutorials for all skill levels and they are to die for!

Also, AGF has a wonderful project perfect for the 4th of July!

Isn't it lovely? I'm considering making something similar to that, thanks AGF! Lastly, this is one of my favorite projects that I created for We All Sew and it's so fun and easy to make!

Presser Foot of the Month: Stitch Regulator

Hello hello!

As you all know, I am so lucky to be a BERNINA ambassador. Using this machine was always a dream of mine and now I get to play around with a BERNINA 790,  how cool is that? I want to start a new segment on  my creative space called the "Presser Foot of the Month", where I will be explaining the features of set foot, awesome right? We'll start with one of my favorites....the Stitch Regulator (BSR)

This presser foot creates, neat consistent stitches that are precise and the same length, while free-motion sewing. While it reacts to the movement of the fabric, this presser foot adjusts the speed of the machine automatically when free-motion quilting with the feed dog lowered. The stitch regulator is perfect for ambitious professional-level sewing projects such as free-motion quilting on all fabrics! 

Like I said, this is one of my favorite presser feet and though it is a bit hard to use (at first), practice makes perfect and you will later be inseparable from this Stitch Regulator.

Intrinsic Clutch

Hello everyone!
Another beautiful project for We All Sew! On a sunny weekend, I was playing around with Essentials II and my BERNINA sewing machine, few minutes of cutting and sewing this beauty came to life. I felt so inspired by the countless Ornamental and Satin stitches from my machine that I imaged how stunning they will look on a...lets say....clutch. Naturally, after this little brainstorming, the Intrinsic Clutch was born.

I wanted to make a cute and stylish clutch with unique front and back, and I realize that mixing The Denim Studio by AGF will add more allure to this piece. I added soft linen for the front and Solid Smooth Denim (Wicked Sky) for the back, combining it with Streakly Business Azur.

This clutch can be use for storing traveling sewing supplies or make up, what ever you prefer, this cutie will carry it in Style! Click here for the complete tutorial.

The Essence Pillow Case

Hi Makers!

As you know, a couple of days ago I received the advance yardage of Essentials II Fabrics and I was out of this world! Naturally, I couldn't wait and started cutting fabrics right away. I had already in mind of what I wanted to sew but needed the right fabric combination to go along Interwill Azur. So I decided to use AGF's new line of substrates, The Denim Studio...and the Essence Pillow Case came to life.

Daring Garland Tutorial

Hi lovelies!

A Nod to Furoshiki, Laundry Bag

Hello everyone!
It's time for another We All Sew tutorial! This one is one of my favorites so far. I was so in-love with this bag when I saw it at the AGF Denim Studio booth back in International Quilt Market, that I decided to do one for myself. And what a great way to mix Dare Fabrics ,  Pure Elements  and AGF Denim Studio while adding BERNINA'S unique decorative stitches. 

This bag it's so versatile! You don't have to use it as a laundry bag only, you can also have it as decorative puff in your home (filled them with poly-fill and you are set) I want to create two more and have them as puff in my home studio. Also, isn't this a perfect holiday gift? It's quick to make! So run to your nearest quilt store, get all the materials and start sewing, you still have three days for Christmas!

Happy Monday everyone!

How did you all spend your weekend? Sewing or quilting I suppose, I know I did. To be constantly creating is what motivates me daily!
